What Waven is — and isn't

Waven introduces people who are living through the same wave, so they can talk and do things together. It is not therapy, not medical or legal advice, and not a crisis service. The people here are peers, not professionals. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number — in Israel, 101 for an ambulance (Magen David Adom) or 100 for the police. To talk to someone in a hard moment, ERAN is 1201.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older, and you may hold one account. What you tell us during sign-up should be true: matching only works on the truth, and pretending to be someone you are not is grounds for removal.

We do not check who anyone is

We do not verify identities, run background checks, or confirm that anything a member tells you is true. Everyone here is a stranger until you decide otherwise. Treat what you read the way you would treat it anywhere else on the internet.

Meeting in person

Some of the best things here start with "shall we actually do this?" — and everything that happens off Waven is between you and the other person. If you meet someone, you do it at your own risk and on your own judgement: meet somewhere public the first time, tell somebody where you are going, and leave whenever you want to. We are not a party to what happens between you, and we are not responsible for it.

How to treat people here

Everyone here is carrying something. Be kind. No harassment, hate speech, threats, romantic or sexual advances, spam, selling anything, or giving medical advice. Never repost another member's words or identity outside Waven. Breaking this ends your account.

Your content

What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you chose to show it to, so that the service can work at all — nothing more, and nothing that outlives your account.

Safety tools

You can block or report anyone, from any conversation or any room, at any time. Reports reach a person. We may suspend or remove accounts that put others at risk, and where safety requires it we will do so immediately and without notice.

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for running the service with reasonable care, for protecting your data as our privacy policy describes, and for acting on reports. We are not responsible for what other members say, do, advise, or become — online or off. The service is provided as it is; we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising out of Waven is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ILS 500. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

If you cause us a problem

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did here — what you posted, how you treated another member, or how you used what you learned — you agree to cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any moment, from your profile, and it is permanent. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or endangers people, with notice where that is possible.

Changes

If we make a meaningful change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Waven after that means you accept it. If you do not, you can delete your account.

The rest

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction. If any part of this is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
