Child Safety Standards

Waven is an adults-only service. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) has no place on it, and this page says what we do about that.

Zero tolerance

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualisation of minors, grooming, and any attempt to use Waven to reach a child are prohibited absolutely. There is no warning step. An account involved in any of these is removed, and the material and the account are reported to the relevant authorities.

Waven is 18+

Waven is for adults. Creating an account requires confirming you are 18 or older, the store listing is rated for adults only, and we ask Google Play to block accounts it has determined belong to minors from downloading the app at all.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.

How to report

Every person and every conversation in Waven carries a report control. Open the person's card or the chat menu, choose Report, and pick Unsafe — that is the category child safety concerns belong in today. You can block the same person from the same menu, immediately and without telling them.

You can also write to support@joinwaven.com from anywhere, including without an account. Reports about a child reach a person, not a queue, and are treated ahead of everything else.

What the app itself refuses

Waven checks every message as it is sent and refuses sexual content, threats and hate before it reaches anyone. This is deliberately narrow: it never blocks someone writing about their own distress, because that is a person reaching out and the app answers them with crisis resources instead.

Compliance

Waven complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, and reports CSAM to the relevant national authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
